George of the Jungle, doggie menagerie and trip up North

Give a man a challenge and he will find a way...

Here we have the fruit of his labor ;-) We have also been eating from the avocado tree

A beautiful backyard with oranges, tangerines and exotic flowers...

you can see a bit of rainbow in the upper right hand corner

Bonnie, retired from teaching in Oakland 7 yrs ago and sold everything, packed up, moved to Kauai and soooo glad she did. Here she is with her little loves Precious and Boppy.

Natasha the Russian Wolfhound listening to Richard...she and Rudy are the same size...BIG

Rudy the Afghan hound...12 years old and a sweetie but BIG

Our first meal out was at the highly recommended "Mermaids" in Kapa'a.

Richard had the Ahi Nori Burrito and I had the Ahi tacos...and

passion fruit tea lemonade for drinks...all very nummy.

Rays of Light...

Cloud indulgence...the skies here are Awesome!

Oooooh...more clouds

Swirling waves ....

Kilauea Point Lighthouse and Wildlife Refuge...Humpback whales come to give birth

Taro fields and Wildlife Refuge

Looking back at Hanalei...big little surfing village

Tarzan would love it here!

Ke'e Beach and as far as you can go by road...then it's the Na Pali Coast...

Beginning of NaPali Coast...accessible only by air, water or hiking
(rated 9 for difficulty and it's 11 miles long)

That's our first full day on our own. I am awed by the majestic beauty of this
place and pictures really cannot do it justice. The weather and air is perfect...
warm, moist, sunny, rainy, cool trade winds, magnificent flora, brilliant colors,
lush greenery and the Ocean...Whoa...it's everywhere ;-) We love it
and will share the journey as we work our way around the island...Aloha!

How wonderful! I love all the pictures and am just a little jealous of it thinking of our trips to Maui. You guys have struck a gold mine with what you're doing. How wonderful!
